It is the year 2003. Tobio, the only son of Dr.Tenma, the Scientist Mnsiter, dies in a traffic accident. Mobilizing the cream of technologists of the Science Minsitry, Dr.Tenma creates a robot in the exact likeness of his dead son. But angered at the fact that the robot did not grow up, he sells it to a robot circus. Fortunately, the robot is saved by Dr.Ochanomizu and named ASTRO BOY.
